Pantani Was Recruited For Buhari's Third Term Bid

There couldn’t be a country in the world where religion creates such an intense atmosphere in the political terrain than in Nigeria. 


Every criminal who  gets into power wants to cement their grip on the resources by stoking religions hatred and bigotry among the masses. The ‘Muslims' rely on the Imams and Alfas to achieve this and the ‘Christians’, on the 'Pastors', 'Reverends' and 'Bishops’. 

No Nigerian leader has exploited this scheme to the extent that Muhammad Buhari has. In the pre-dominantly 'Muslim North' of Nigeria, Muslims who criticize the administration risk being excommunicated and even attacked. 

Right from Buhari’s first tenure, I smelt a third term ambition. Buhari came into power on 2015 because an overwhelming majority got red up with the ways of the PDP and bought the idea of Buhari’s ‘Change' slogan. 

In the 2019 elections, asides evident rigging by the Buhari administration, many still voted for him and his party out of hope that things will get better. Some others voted for him out of the indebtedness they feel towards him for the unfruitful years he spent contesting for the presidency. 

With Buhari’s second tenure looking to the worse than his first, the ruling APC is facing an imminent woeful performance at the 2023 polls. 

No presidential candidate is likely to pull a significant number of votes under the APC even with Buhari’s endorsement hence, the APC will have to fall back on Buhari’s popularity in the North. Buhari will seek a third term in office, he has the Nigerian National Assembly in his pocket; it will not be to difficult to 'pimp' the condition to facilitate it. That’s where Pantami comes in.

Sheikh Dr. Isa Pantami was appointed Minister of Communication in 2019, Pantami's popularity as a religion preacher started to grow astronomically towards the end of 2018 especially among the youths.

More and more northern Muslims are seeing the futility of a Buhari presidency, something has to be done to calm their nerves and get them engendered to the third term idea. Pantami’s presence in the current cabinet is intended to give the Buhari government the ‘Islamic’ image it has covertly claimed. 

No minister in his right senses will protest the third term agenda of his boss. When Buhari finally and formally declares his third term bid, Sheikh Dr. Isa Pantami will lead the league of Imams and scholars who will paint the bid as the best thing for Islam in Nigeria.
